    This is a little recliner. It’s not the manufacturer’s fault, the quality is good, I suppose i must not have researched it enough, it’s really not at all what I had imagined. It looks so small next to the rest of my furniture. I have no idea what to do with it. You practically sit on the ground its so low, and i don’t think its appropriate for someone 5’11, unless I guess you slide way down on it to put your head back. The worst thing is just how tiny it looks, it looks weird, to put it in perspective, a matching side table needs to be about a height of 15 inches from the floor.

    LOVE the chair, classic style and comfort. Quality of the leather and wood is lovely. It was difficult to assemble as the instructions were poor. Not only was the picture so faint we could hardly read it, but the arm screws weren't long enough so luckily we had some on hand. Anyone without tools or knowledge of assembly would find it difficult. Part of the issue was that the parts themselves weren't numbered so nothing corresponded to the "picture only" instructions. No wording or explanations.

    A really straightforward purchase through Amazon. Delivered as expected (quickly and free shipping) and 90% of assembly went smoothly. As others have pointed out, assembling the arm rests was excessively difficult and should be an improvement the manufacturer seeks to improve upon. Overall, I am extremely happy with the chair and have received many compliments from friends. The quality of materials and finish is superb. It compares favourably with many much more expensive models.

Like others have said the arms are a bit of team effort to put on, would not recommend trying to do it on your own. But other then that they are wonderful.

    Love this chair! The quality seems quite high, and it was mostly pretty easy to assemble - except the arms. Attaching the arms was super frustrating and challenging. The chair itself is incredibly comfortable - I'm 5'5" and the size of the chair is excellent. My partner is 5'11" though and wishes it were a tad bigger.

    The construction and sturdiness, though similar to the original chair and ottoman, doesn't have the same sturdy feel and not quite the same comfort. The ottoman pivot-plate has significant play as evidenced by the wobble on the slight application of weight applied to the edges. The biggest problem is in attaching the armrests. The right armrest was placed and attached with 2, 1 cm bolds in 5 minutes. The left armrest required me to use a 2 cm bolt to align the bracket holes with the armrest plate. The second point on the armrest plate will not easily align and seems to sit just beyond the reach of the 1 cm bolt. I have had the chair for almost three weeks. The left armrest has yet to be attached. A two-person job for what should easily be a single person job detracts enormously from product satisfaction. It is worth the extra money to buy the originator product.

    There are plates on each side of the chair to secure the backrest and to install the armrests. The top of the 2 plates are round steel plates with each 2 holes so one can install the arm rests with M6 10mm screws. The location of these holes make the attempt to install the armrests extremely difficult, particularly for the hole nearest the backrest. But I was finally successful in installing the screws for the front holes on each side using the supplied M6 10mm screws with the tool that comes with the chair. I did buy M6 16mm screws and tried to use them for the holes nearest the backrest because the screw port in the armrest is too distant for the 10mm screw. But these alternative screws do not have the head which would make the tool that came with the chair so useful to hold and direct the screw securely. To install the armrests, I rested myself on the floor with my head under the steel plates and I was assisted by my girlfriend who held the armrest in place, once I viewed the screw port in the armrest. The chair builder should copy the steel plate design you can see on YouTube as was done by another Earns Lounge chair builder. But... this Lounge Chair is great to have... quality leather and wood.

    High quality leather and has survived daily use for almost a year without any wear or tear. Chair is a one to one remake of the original design. The only difference is the plywood used on this is 7 ply, versus the thicker 5 ply of an original. My family has an original, and this is just as comfortable. It should be noted as others have said, the screws included are about 2 millimeters shorter than they could be to make threading the arm on easier. However with a little bit of work they are firmly attached. Pain in the butt to do, but not a deal breaker. Overall definitely recommend this chair.

    The Eames Chair was delivered in a timely manner and its shipping container protected the quality of the product inside. The chair was easy to assemble with ONE notable exception. The screws / bolts used for the arm bracket to the cushion are to short and required a quick trip to hardware store. They should be double in length. In reviewing before purchase this issue was almost always indicated so knowing this prior limited the anxiety. Other than those four screws/bolts the assembly was extremely easy! Love the chair!

    I purchased this chair about 10 months ago to use for reading in my office. Overall, I have been quite happy with my purchase with a few caveats -- particularly around comfort/feel. The feel of the chair may not be for everyone, particularly for those looking for something that feels like the original. AESTHETICS/BUILD QUALITY: 5/5 The chair is very well built with premium materials like the original. It looks very similar to an original, except that the product's cushions appear more substantial. COMFORT/FEEL: 3/5 This chair has a completely different feel from an original. It has very firm cushions, whereas an original has very soft cushions that easily conform to your body (like an old catcher's mitt). I do find the firm cushions comfortable and they are well suited to a focused activity like reading (which is what I bought the chair for). I felt no discomfort even after marathon 6+ hour reading sessions and never found myself falling asleep in the chair. If you aren't a fan of firm seating or you're looking for a chair to fall asleep in after a long day, this may not be your best choice. VALUE: 5/5 This chair is a tremendous value. It's now even cheaper than when I initially bought it. It is very well-built from premium materials that should hopefully last you for decades to come like the original. It costs money to build things well and use quality materials. I have seen cheaper replicas but they don't usually look as well-built and may use cheap materials like bonded leather, which won't last nearly as long. After all, it's still only 1/6th the price of an original. ASSEMBLY: As others have pointed out, the assembly can be a bit of a pain, but you only have to do it once. I was able to assemble the chair alone in under half an hour with the longer screws recommended by others.

    Three friends came over the first two days that we had owned this chair. They were both compelled to comment at its beauty. We were lucky to purchase it at $849. Albeit that we have never seen the original Eames chair other than in photos, the quality is high and it appears to resemble a lot like the original. We are very pleased with this purchase. We would buy another.

    I've had this chair for about 4 months and I love it! I sit in it everyday, and it's my favorite chair; a chair I hope will be around for many years. Assembly for me was easy, other reviewers mentioned problems with screw alignment, yes it's tight, but just use the allen-key to guide the holes together and it's easy. I assembled it by myself with no complaining. Build quality is good, but this is not a chair I will be jumping into or doing yoga on. The little screws are the only thing keeping the backrest attached to the arms. So I slide in gently. At first the cushion is VERY firm, but after 4 months it has softened up nicely, I'm not sure how comfortable the original is, but this chair is comfy for me. I have fallen asleep in it a few times. It doesn't look at all like one of those comfy chairs, but it just kind of is. The leather on the chair is top-notch, I was pleasantly surprised by this, I was planning to return the chair because I expected the leather to be bad, but no. (If the Chinese have mastered making fake leather, this is the best I've seen). I don't believe the leather on the ottoman is of the same quality, but still real. Some reviewers mentioned the ottoman is too high. It's high, yes, but I believe this offers the best seating position. Prior to assembly, the base post could be cut shorter if one wanted to do that, but I wouldn't. The cushions are attached to the wood the same way the original is, but the Chinese took an extra step and velcro'd around the perimeter, I guess to prevent sagging at some point. You don't see or hear the velcro while using the chair. There were no noticeable flaws in my chair, quality control is good. My only gripe is that the ottoman doesn't have a chrome ring around the base post like there is on the chair. Minor, but at this price, I feel it could have been added to make the ottoman feel part of the chair. Is this chair worth the price? No. If you want a leather chair, buy something else for cheaper, it will probably be more comfortable. If you're an Eames fan like I am or just appreciate the history of the chair, then it's worth it, I have no regrets. I love looking at it as well as sitting in it. I only gave it four stars because I'm not convinced it will last 20 years, but I may be surprised. A note about shipping. I'm a prime member and was guaranteed delivery on a Tuesday, the chair never showed. Wed, no show. Thurs, no show. The seller uses Purolator and they only deliver "oversized" once a week in my area. Amazon did not know this, and the Purolator call centre also did not know this. I spent hours on the phone trying to get my chair delivered 10km from the depot. I wasn't aware that I could pick it up myself, so that's what I did Friday. Very poor communication between Amazon and Purolator.
